Default difference 1998 & 2002 LS1 blocks

I have heard that the block for the past few years has been the same for both LS1 and LS6 engines. What would be the difference in a 1998 (for example) and a 2002 (for example) LS1 block? I am looking to build up an LS1, and have access to an "older" block, but I want to get the best for the task. What would be the other differences, not block specific, between the two?

Thanks guys...

98s are the only year that cannot be bored at all. They can take a light honing, other than that and they will need a re-sleeve. I am not aware of differences in any other year blocks.

Quite a few of the 02 blocks are actuallly ls6 blocks with the open webs at the main webs for better oil control from bay to bay and are worth a few hp at high rpms. You can tell by the number stamped on the back of the block.
