Timing chain....sprockets?

Timing chain....sprockets? Putting a cam and heads in the '99Z with 60K. Should I get sprockets with the LS2 chain? Don't drag race 
but have been know to run the car through the gears. I would assume you need to get gears, that's what I have done on sbc's. I read here just getting the chain.

Can someone tell me why? There hardend comepared to the ones on my sbc? Or cahanging them is overrated to start with? Have searched and I have read you probably don't need sprockets. But there isn't a reason. Thanks
