Default Cam specs

I'm not real sure how the specs affect performance. Is my cam for mid or high rpm and what else would specs tell me?

Looks to me like it would make a good bit of its power in the midrange and it shouldn't peak too late. Your 114 LSA moves the powerband down a little bit, and tames your idle.

blakes pretty much right on. Duration: the 224 gives u excellent mid range power as well as top end and it will peak sooner than a larger duration cam...which means u wont have to spin the motor up too high to get the "meat" of the cam. a larger duration cam will make better peak power, but they will sacrifice some low-mid range power.
LSA: yes, the 114, as opposed to a 112 will give u lil bit of a broader torque band while giving u a good smooth idle at the same time because of the wide separation of the cam lobes. going with a lower lsa will make killer power, but the band will be shorter. and therefore, cams with low lsa's are good for racing....but i prefer a lil higher for a street car. cuz lets face it, on the street, the car sees mostly low-mid rpms.

wider lobe angle=less valve overlap=less chop

actually a smaller lsa will make power sooner bit but will also have a choppier idle.

why will a smaller lsa make power sooner the higher the lsa, the broader the power band. the lower the lsa, the tighter the band....and usually with a low lsa, u will have a larger duration, and therefore, your tight power band will be up higher. why is this true of high large duration??? cuz the larger the duration, the sooner the valve opens...and the later it closes. thus, the longer the valve is open, the better high end power u will make. why??...cuz u will have more time to fill the cylinder with air/fuel at higher rpms with the valve open longer.
