was going to probably go ahead and buy me ab new engine for my 98z and noticed on the sdpc sight all i could find were 99's now the stupid question is will i be able to put that in with no probs? 98 and 99's are the same right nothing different? will my computer work with it? sorry for the stupid questions.

 

I am doing the same thing. I was told by a few sponsors that as long as your not changing the injectors, it should be no problem with the computer.

Are you buying a long block or a fully dressed engine?
I assume all you need is,at the most, a long block..
You can run any year,any size,gen III long block you feel like.
If you were to some how want to run a fully dressed '99 spec LS1..then you would want to swap injectors from your '98.

 

I put a 99 motor from a SS in my ws6 with no problems. Keep your bigger 98 injectors.
