how long to do a head swap??
You can do a cam swap in well under a day. For a head swap I think if you gave yourself a Saturday and a Sunday and you have all the tools you need you'd be able to bang it out. You could do it in a day, but it would be a very busy day for one or two people doing it their first time. I've got some install pics off my website as well as JMX's link to his installs.
thanks for the heads up and link!! i worked on cadillacs for 12 yrs, until 4yrs ago. so i figured it could not be any more difficult than a northstar. thanks again!! <img border="0" alt="[driving]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_driving3.gif" /> maybe next week when i have a couple of days.
I had my car stripped down to shortblock in my car. It was my first time. Two of us put it back together in one evening. Took us about 8 hrs. The only unusual tools you will need are the line separaters for the fuel lines and a torque angle meter. I thought it was a piece of cake. I would say that if you have the tools and take a break in the middle, 9 hrs.
yea i figured about 8hrs if i stayed on it the last cam swap took about 3-4hrs (springs had already been changed) now i just have to get my lazy *** motivated!! LOL
