Stock shortblock cost I got a buddy who is gonna be looking for a stock LS1 shortblock and I thought I would try to see what kind of a price he might be looking at. This would be a used one as well not new. Any ideas?

what i've been seeing them go for at least on this site
shortblock:1200-1500
longblocks:2000-2500
only ones i've seen for around that price needed to be rebuilt or maybe just the ones i've seen were priced high

brand new/less than 5K miles I could see $1K.......for anything that has been used more than that I wouldn't pay more than $500-$750.......
reason being if you baught the stock parts, depending on condition:
block = ~$200-$500
crank = $100-$300
rods = ~$75-$150
pistons = ~$100
everything else (pan, covers, etc...) = $150

Verdad Gallardo These are rebuilt, new crank, rods, pistons, bearings, ect. They have not been run. It was a machine shop or something. It seemed legit and it might help hemrhead's friend with some options. If he wanted to spend $2500-$3500 then I would have pointed him towards one of the sponsors.
