Default S-10 LS1 Project Motor Input please!!

Ok. Here is the deal. I am working on an S-10 LS1 project. My goal is to keep the leaf spring suspension. AND it MUST be a daily driver. I was originally going to go insane and build a 6.0L iron block 402 with 500+ RWHP. after talking to some of the guys from LS2.com i've decided to back off the power numbers a bit to keep it streetable. I am looking for a RELIABLE 400 HP. hopefully at the rear wheels. crank HP would make me happy...i'll be jumping from 120 crank. to 400. i'll be extatic. Now what i am looking for are suggestions on the engine combination, block, internals, top end, etc, any help you guys could provide would be awesome...

Im asuming you want 400 rwhp, that being said,I would take a bone stock LS1 and throw in a TR 224 cam, good flowing heads, and a decent tune. should net you 400rwhp or more, along with the complemetary mods: exhaust, intake, etc. that would be very streetable and about as reliable as you can get.

i just found (just as in 20 min ago) a 89 s-10 roller that needs motor and interior, already has a TH350. hoping i can pick it up for a song. if thats the case...things might change. but for now. yeah i think 400 RWHP is the goal. that should put me up there with some mildly modded 5.0's right? approx track time? if i get the older truck. it will be my test bed for things. I plan on doing the swap in my 2002 when it is paid off......thanks for the help...keep the info coming......as far as top end. i was thinking ported LS6 Manifold. and for the heads and cam.....that is where i am lost...my head/cam knowledge is lacking

It sounds like you'll kick the crap out of midly modded 5.0's.
