Default shorter, hardened pushrods?

this may be a little late to ask but should I get hardened pushrods. My heads are milled .030, but the last car they were on used a stock length pushrod. Would I be better of getting a shorter pushrod? If so, how short? Cam is a 224/230 .567/.573 112 LSA on XE-R lobe.

im not sure on your question, but im doing heads and cam this weekend, and i have patriot ls6 heads that are supposed to be milled to stock height. the cam is a lunati 224/224 .563/.563 on a 112lsa. lunati told me to go with 7.425" pushrods cause the cam needs .030 preload on the lifters. stock length is 7.395" on the pr, so the .425 will give me the .030 preload and thats also partly due to the smaller base circle of the new cam. so, you really need to call comp and see what they recommend. if you have adjustable rocker arms though you should be able to compensate with those pushrods. anyway, the milled 30 heads and stock length pr's sounds ok to me, that would definetely give you some preload, but i dont know how much is needed for you? i havent finished up my cam install, but ill be sure to let everyone know if it works. hopefully it does.
