Default LS6 pcv conversion

installed the kit about 2 weeks ago and car started smoking at idle and when I got on it. Pulled the nipple off the pass side valve cover and felt a slight pressure. I removed the pcv valve from the system and connected the hose straight to the manifold and get a strong vacuum at the nipple and no smoke at idle. I tried several different valves and all do the same thing. Seems that with the valve in the system it cant pull enough vacuum to evacuate the crankcase...either that or I fried my rings already.....I have a TR224 cam, long tubes etc.......if anybody has done a compression test with the above cam, can you post your numbers,TIA.....Brad
