408 $$ I was just wondering in the end how much everyone paid for there 408 longblock...Details...I want to make sure i'm not getting over my head in the end..Keeping my procharger and running 12-15lbs of boost on it...If i go with the 408 i will probably want to get a diffenent intake..ect..seems like its going to get pricey in the end...Or better off to do a forged 346 and call it a day...planning on doing this at the end of the year...The way i see it about 8 grand for the long block except the intake...Just wanted to see where i'm at...Thanks

You are a little low, a full longblock will be in the 10K range, I purchased a shortblock, heads, cam, and am swapping over some old parts and some new parts, it's about 7k to do it yourself.

I don't know if you could make more than 12 lbs of boost on a 408 with the d1sc. The price of the block is only part of it. You may also need fuel up grades, built transmission, 12 bolt rearend, suspension and exhaust parts. It gets expensive quick. The block will obviously depend on what parts you go with. I would say 8k for the long block is on the cheap side.

Well my t56 is out getting rebuilt right now...And i plan on going with a 12 bolt and upgrading from my 42lbs injectors...My goal is 700 rwhp and still have a streetable car...I nice 346 will probably do my goals just thought since its out and it will give me room to grow in the long run...Thought about doing a old car but i just love my car and want a nice fast street car...03 cobras with KB are quick...have to step up my game a little for next year..
Totally about how much is the difference with a 346 forged block to a 408 when its all said and done???Is it worth the extra wieght going with the iron block?

I know...Didn't have much of a choice though..I love my 6 speed and the car is staying the same for this year...How much would you estimate a TH400 to cost for my car including trans/labor...
Well you need a th400. My friend payed 1200 for his built with a trans brake and full manual. Then you will need a converter, flexplate, shifter, transmission brace, dipstick, drive shaft and some electrical conversion parts for the speedo. It's not cheap and since we do all of our own labor I don't know how to price that. Price would be dictated by who you get the parts from and what you get. I would stick with the m6 unless this is going to be a drag car.
