pulleys
Does anyone know how to install the ASP UD pulley system? just bought it and would like to install it myself. I just need to know how much psi to torque it at, and how to take it off and put back on properly. thanks
Torque according to the type of bolt your are using, i.e. stock TTY or ARP. Get a large three jaw wheel puller to remove the stock pulley. When you get the stock bolt out, have a machinist put a shallow centering hole in the center of the head and the puller will work much better. To break the bolt loose, use a large impact wrench or lay a breaker bar on the top of the driver side frame rail and hit the starter. I like the second method best because there isn't a lot room for an impact wrench with the radiator in place.
Be sure not to reuse the stock TTY bolt or it may end up broken off in the crankshaft. Same thing can happen if you over torque an ARP bolt. The ARP bolts can be reused, but you torque them to a much lower value than the stock bolt.
i didnt get another bolt with the package, do i have to buy another one? the ASP UD package came with the pulley and 2 belts, no bolt.

You can go to a GM dealer or GMPartsDirect and buy the longer bolt (recommended) from somewhere like NAPA.

You can use an impact to remove it but a trq wrench to install.
The long bolt makes life so much easier (M16 x 2.0 pitch x 120mm long ), and the best pulley puller you can rent.
WD40 or some other penetrating lubricant the night before on the bolt to help with removal.
You'll find the procedure in here:
