Am I hurting my synchros?
But to answer your question, the synchros will really only slide into gear if enough clutch is disengaged. Now there are vehicles where you can rev match the synchro and slide it into gear (like a Jeep Wrangler). I tried it and it just doesn't want to go in. If you're making hard shifts you may chip the synchro mesh a little bit. But the 3-4 shift form may go out on you eventually. Mine went out and I couldn't shift into 4th without it popping out of gear immediately. So to sum it up, your not hurting anything unless you are grinding when you shift.

The 3-4 shift went out on me at the track one time when I was powershifting. RIght after I put it into 4th gear it popped out and I found out I broke the clutch springs in the pressure plate. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
Thats what happened to me at the track.
