Default Longevity of springs with various cams

The Stage 1.5 Tea 5.3 heads have springs rated to .660 lift. How long can I be worry free about teh springs with the following cams.
Stealth II 224/220 .581/.581 116
GFX3 ...............................
F13 230/232 .595/.585 114

The X3 I'll need to start worrying about first, but am just wanting to get an idea for when. Also, am I going to have any clearance issues if I mill the heads any? I believe the X3 is close as it is, but I'm not sure, so milling it would increase the risks. Would I still be able to mill somewhat with the F13 or SII? Thanks.

I just bought a set of the TEA stage 1.5 5.3L heads. I am going to run an F13 cam. I called Futral and they said the MAX mill they recommend with the F13 cam is .010" (assuming stock MLS head gaskets). Now, I know there are a few guys on here that have more milling than that and it clears (Damian is one). I ordered my heads with no milling, but I am getting thinner cometic gaskets. I don't think the milling is worth the risk in terms of power gained in my case, but that's my opinion. I am also going to check clearances before I bolt everything down.

As for valvespring life, I don't know. I am going to pull a few springs once a year and check them. When they get to low on pressure they will get replaced. I hope to get 15,000 miles or so out of them.

You really should pull some and check them once in awhile. There are many variables involved. Should be able to get at least 15,000, at which point it's a good idea to check them.

I'm doing the smart thing, I'm talking to Louis about my setup.
My real issue is that I don't want much lope, I know, I know. I don't mind it some, but I just hate it when the car sounds like it's just going to die right there. But I want it to scream at WOT. Is it possible to get a stock sounding idle with a larger cam, or does the increased LSA detract from the power you can make?

Get an FM11 straight up (no advance) on a 114. With proper dyno tune, you'll barely notice you have a cam and it will be a screamer till 6800 rpm
