Default Oil Support Ring ???

These come with the Lunati 3.898 ring kit but not with the 3.903 kit. It mentions that it is included "due to short compression height."
My question is does anyone use the support on any of the combos? Found it weird that it was included with one set and not another.

Anyone put together a Lunati kit lately or knows the reason for the support ring?

I got an oil support ring when I origionally bought my Lunati 3.903 383 Stroker kit. That was 2 years ago.

The 3.903 ring set from 3 weeks ago does not have the support ring. Is there any noticable oil control issues with or without it? I would tend to believe not since the low tension oil ring just "scrapes" oil from the bore.
