Default in the process of installing my heads and cam

well i have everything off the car and started to put the cam in, well the cam in is the car now just gotta wait on oil pump and gaskets and i get to put it all back together. the passenger side head bolts were a bitch with the headers in there, the oil pump wasnt bad to get out at all. now we will see how the assembly goes.

ill get some sound clips when im done, F13, GMMG, ORY, AFR heads

haha yeah i bet so, ill just take my time and it should be ok.

the best way i found out to take the pulley off the car was to take a 24mm inpact socket and put it in the hole of the pulley, put a 3/8 inch adaptor in the end of the socket and use that to put the puller on. worked out great for me. i read everyone else putting longer bolts but this was so simple, and free lol

Are you putting a double roller timing chain on? That will only add to the aggrevation of getting the new oil pump in. It'll work, but it is frustrating - don't mess up the gasket...

That will be a killer combo for power. I'm guessing 205's. Let us know 2 things. 1. how much power after tuned and 2. if you hear an annoying whistle.

Hey WS6, are you going to fire it up on the stock tune? If not, what is your car tuned for (headers, intake, etc.)? I am curious if I can put heads/cam in my car and get it to at least run on the tune for headers only.

It will run on a headers only tune. Not well but it will run. Tune ASAP.

The pickup tube will be a ***** in getting that little bolt started in the hole... amazing how they put the bolt on the utmost inopportune side of the flange.

I'm sitting here looking at the LS6 oil pump I ordered that I'm going to install when I do a cam swap. There are two bolt holes for the oil pickup tube. Does the pickup tube only have one hole drilled? If two, why not you use two bolts?

One is for the Corvette pick up tube. That hole and bolt faces frontward (when installed) compared to F-body bolt which is almost hidden when installed.
