Default should i be worried?

I left the stock timing chain on when i did my cam swap. car has 24,xxx miles

probably not...but i would've changed it...the stock chain was run on my car for prolly 5,000 miles and it had 95,000miles on it...although it did have quite a bit of slack in it when i changed the oil pump and replaced it with a rollmaster double roller...i have a m6 as well and they are harder on the timing chains...

You should be fine. It is not required, only recommended. How high do you rev? The higher you rev the more it is recommended that you get a new one.
