Valvetrain tap
This is a followup to this thread: https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-internal-engine/314130-ticking-problem-valvetrain.html
The valvetrain noise I was hearing/feeling seems to probably be a turned (spun) lifter. My engine guy says he thinks thats what it is.
If the rocker arms are in place, and we turn over the engine, you can put your finger on the 1 rocker arm and feel it tap nasty...
He thinks the lifter spun sideways and the roller is what is making the tapping. If we turn over the engine and apply finger pressure on the pushrod, you can feel like tap/jerk every revolution. He also says it may have damaged some of the lobe on the cam
I just want to know if anyone has experienced this problem?
