Recycle MLS Head Gaskets?

I will be removing the heads soon. Is it necessary to replace GM MLS head gaskets even though they've only been in there 4 months?

yes...once you compress them they're done.

I have recycled head gaskets with low miles on it with no problems. It is not advisable, but if there are no tears on them, you will probably be ok.

what about after torquing them down to check P/V clearance or pushrod height.

Its ok then, as long as the engine hasnt been started right?

seriously don't reuse your mls head gaskets. once they've been compressed and un-compressed they've seen their useable life span... just spend the extra 26 bucks and buy a new set at napa.

What kind of MLS gaskets are these that you can get at NAPA? Seeing as how Cometics are $75 a piece, where do those fall in quality?

if u are using COMETICS mls gaskets u might be able to get away with it, stock gm mls gaskets? sure u can but then those gaskets will go

the first chanse they get.
