Exclamation ls1 knocking noise

hey everyone i have a 99 Z28 and i have a problem. i bought a tnt wet kit that is adjustable to 300 or 350 hp. i had a buddy install it for me running a 150hp shot. he told me that i should be ok with running this kit on my car and that i didnt need to get a bigger fuel pump or bigger injectors. well i found out the hard way. i went to union grove dragway and made a couple of motor only passes to see how to judge the gains for when i sprayed. the car as usual ran fine. the first pass with the nos it made it to about half track when i noticed a major problem and got off the gas. by the end of the track the car was accelerating by itself. even though i was on the brake. i then saw smoke and pulled into the grass on the return road and went to check it out. when i popped the hood there was gasoline from the intake all the way to the battery. i mean the whole underneith of my hood was soaked in fuel. which leads me to believe the car ran lean down the track. i shut off the car and got away in fear of any type of fire. once that was dealt with the car started and i had to drive it home. i ended up melting on spark plug the 3rd one back on the passenger side. i replaced all the sparkplugs. and i still have a knocking noise. its not bad at all in fact most people until i ask them about dont even notice it over my loud exhaust. i still drive the car to work and it runs fine but i cant help but wonder whats wrong with my car and with limited funds what should i do. it really sucks though i thought the kid who installed knew what he was doing but i guess not. some one please help

Very tough to say what could be wrong. I assume youre not throwing any codes (SES light not on). You might think about getting a leakdown test. A compression test may not show any potential piston damage as accurately as a leakdown test would. You may also want to bring this up in the nitrous forum.

Something went wrong. Sounds like to me the fuel hose was not tight. If there is fuel on the battery. If the hose was leaking bad than you more likely had some detention. I would do Guitsboy said do a leak down test.
