Default How much power is to much?

At what point, do you need to by a rear end wether it be a 9in or 12 bolt. When is the point where you need to buy it? If im gunna have heads/cam and 3600 stall. Do i ned to look at saving up for a new rear end?

If you're running sticky tires.. even with stock power levels you should upgrade your rear.

More of a matter of traction. You can have a lot of hp and still keep the 10 bolt if you keep street tires on it and avoid shocking the rear end. Like he said above, even w/ stock power its possible to break the stocker w/ some sticky tires and a hard launch.

Auto's dont slam all the power to the rear at once so it usually last a lot longer. An m6 can break the rear at any time.

so if im running heads/cam and 3600, but i use this for just street. And go to the track like maybe once or twice total, then i wont need to get a new rear end? And no, i wont be on sticky tires at all either.

You should be fine with the auto in my opinion.. even at the track on drag radials. For a good while anyway, but anything can happen.

I am running the stock rear in my car.
I doubt in an auto you will have any problems. As long as you don't wheel hop it you should be fine. (my wife broke mine once when she didn't get enough water on the left side tire in the burnout box. It wheelhoped during the burnout and broke the spider gears.)

And i dont make much money at my job, im saving up this summer to buy some great TEA heads. so i dont have any money to spend on the rear thats why i was saying how much power is to much..

FYI: Poor title choice and

As for the question: Auto you should be fine. I plan to pull 1.6 60's and solid 11's all day on the stock ten bolt. I already ran many 1.7X 60's with no problem. But it is always possible. My luck with the drivetrain I'll break mine, just like my tranny.

Hit or miss. Weight of the car probably is the deciding factor.

Wow sorry im not perfect! lol

anyways, i just heard different opinions and stories about heads/cam stall auto cars. Some people say that you will need a rear end, other people i hear say you can run heads/cam stall and spray and be fine. I just dont have the money to pay for a new one if i have 2.

Some people run heads/cam/n2o on a stock A4 tranny and ten bolt. Some people fry their tranny with nothing but bolt ons. I had the converter less than a year and the cam a few months before my tranny started having issues. (lost 2-3 at WOT) It's hit or miss. Your best bet to not have to put money into the rear is with an auto though, that is for sure.

Who rebuilt it? I'm getting the "Maximum Evil" through speed inc, the top of the "Dr Evil" line of trannies. Other good board sponsored trannies I am aware of come from FLP and Rossler. (rossler being best)

Would the Pro Yank be to much for a daily driver/street car. Im having hard time finding YankSS3600, but i have found the YankPY3600. Let me know if this is to much for my car though. mods in sig. and i plan on getting FMS F14 cam with the TC, and later on some TEA Heads. Thanks.

Whether or not it's too much on the street depends on whether or not you can take the looseness. PT4000 on the street will be LOOSE, but those 3.73's should help. My SSF is being restalled to 4000 this month. Yanks makes an SS4000 as well....
