I have seen on here were some guys are runnin cams simular to yours and have heads that are milled .050 so you should be ok but may want to double check. I have access to 5.3 cores if needed.

Thanx cyphur

I'll find out and we'll mill them as much as we can and still maintain reasonably safe clearances.

Those castings are bare and will need valvetrain. Thanx for the complement...I think lol. I have been porting cylinder heads since '94 and have been enjoying it ever since. I started porting heads for myself since I couldnt afford "good" heads back then and grew from there. I try to market myself to guys like me that would have to port em theirselves but do not have the knowhow and/or equipment and nothing more. I really appreciate the props and comments and will always help people when I can since thats what its all about. Thanx for everything, ls1tech!

Bo, the ICL on that cam is 108 degrees. How much can the heads be milled and still maintain PVC on stock thickness gaskets using stock valves? How much can the heads be milled and still maintain PVC on stock thickness gaskets and 2.02 intake valves?

I feel that a .558" 221 cam will clear fine with a stock valved, .050 milled head and .045" milled, 2.02 valved head.

Dont sweat it guys, Im just a novice at this stuff anyway. I do all of my porting on the talegate of my S10 and have never used a flow bench . Some of the locals know this. I just got word that my "new port" is actually smaller than the old one and pulls better numbers down low but takes away from the higher ranges. This is just what you run into trying to better yourself without the aid of a flowbench, well atleast the ports flow "carbon copies" of each other

Sweet bo, I have been contiplating taking my 241's off and getting a full blown port and valve job. Instead of putting these 5.3's on.

So lets see,If I send u a set of 241 castings and my 918's...U will port them, mill them, and do the valve job and install springs for 750?

Also what PR would I run and I was going to use a .051 MLS Gasket.
I wanted about a 62 to 64 CC chambers...

If I go 5.3 then I'd need to buy valves..I think the stock valves are more than adequate for my mild 214-222 559 566 115LSA Camshaft too.

He doesn't do porting work anymore. He sends them off to be CNC'd since he is working full time now. I already tried.
