Ran great for 30,000 then died, or is running great and now 30k?

My guess would be that you don't need a double chain until you are revving up to and beyond 7,000 rpm.

ran great for 30k+ then I lost a rod bolt....the rest is trash The timing chain was one of the very few recovered pieces of my motor. I am getting ready to put it into a built 6.0. Great piece, one of the more nicely machined units at that.

That is not true. A stock pulley WILL fit with the Roll Master dbl roller. APS under drives will NOT fit, and must be milled as previaously mentioned. I know. My motor wouldn't rotate when I torqued the ASP down, so I put a stocker back on & all was fine.

Whether a dbl roller is needed on an LS1 is debatable. I've never heard of anyone breaking a chain, but I installed one anyway. Now almost everyone has heard of rocker arms falling apart. But how many people are still running stockers & turning 6500-7k? TOO MANY!!! (not me tho)

And replacing the rocker arms is no where near as hard as replacing the chain. The bolt on the oil pump pick-up tube is a PITA!!!

because of that bolt I had to rebuild my motor, the friend who was working on the oil pump while I was working with the heads put a rag in the top of the oil pan to block the bolt from falling down in the hole, and he left the rag in there, and it clogged everything up in my motor, even the lifters.

Going with an LS2 chain on my F-13. More than enough.

That's because of a stupid friend, not the bolt.

I wasn't blaming it on the bolt, itself, but that bolt was definitely a biotch. The friend and I both know it was his fault, but we both got over it.
