most problems I see or hear about is people not lining up the timing chain correctly, make sure you do this.

The check engine light will appear from time to time. Random misfires are the usual code that's thrown. You really should put some money towards getting it tuned. You need to raise the rev limiter a bit. Also, automatic transmissions could do well with a higher stall torque converter... M6 cars- go straight for the 4.10's. Good luck!

Unplug the main wireing harnes on both coils before first start. If you here some bad things going on it wont fire up and cause you more problems

Unless you have a converter idle is probably going to be a PITA to find.

the car finding an idle while driving seems to be my biggest headache. Sometimes it doesn't find it and it keep stalling out on me during traffic. Very embaressing and annoying. Get a tune ASAP would be my recommendation.

Take the time to degree the cam. Make sure it matches the cam card and it matches the specs you think it should be. A tip I saw on a CompCams video, use white paint or nail polish to draw a line thru each dot on the timing and crank gear. It makes it a lot easier to line up. Most problems are self-inflicted, myself included. Good Luck!
