Default Crankshaft position sensor?

How exactly can you test one of these? Can you use an ohmmeter? what would a correct reading be if so? Any advise would be great.

It basically is a magnet that gets a certain reading based on the magnetic field formed when the crank is located in all positions. I don't think you can use an Ohmmeter to read that, but then again I'm not sure what you could use to test that.
