Default Things to check that could cause low trapspeed.

My car is trapping 104, which is about 1 or 2 mph low. What things should I check out, what could be causing this? Do 2.73 gears lower the trap?

This is a pretty subjective question.

It can range from tune-up; to weather; to driver error.

Gearing can lower trap if the engine torque is not sufficient to use the
gear.

Normally a 2.73 is going to need a small OD tire with a mountain of torque
to move a 3200+ lb car effectively.

Do you happen to know the total gear ratio (using the gear you trap with)?

Is this a stock engine besides your sig mods?

Sorry, I`m fairly new here and don`t know your setup.

The first thing that comes to mind is the torque converter slipping if the
engine RPM isn`t well above the flash point. What RPM do you cross the line?

Not sure what all you have done, but 2 things that lowered my trap's was a SLP MAF one time and a bad rear o2 sensor the second time.

You have a stalled 2.73 geared 99 with nothing but lid and cat-back to increase power. 104 seems very possible. What was the weather like?
