Default LS6 cam in LS1

After search, I really didnt find a solid answer...

I have a LS6 cam, I know, small cam not worth it, however I bought it used and cheap, I will be doing the labor myself, anyways

Do I need to change push rod length to do this swap properly? I heard something about smaller base circles on LS6 cams and longer valves on LS6 heads to compensate. Anyone? thanks

Some will say yes. Most will say no. I've installed 4 LS6 cams all with stock P/Rs with no problems.

You might as well change them while you are in there

I just used stock length Manley pushrods, no problems.

The LS6 valves are .6mm longer to compensate for the reduced base circle of the 02 LS6 cam using stock 7.40mm pushrods. I used Manley 7.45mm pushrods that came in a sponsors kit. GM was concerned with valve train geometry when they designed the 02 LS6.
