Default is this a good cam for me??

i have a 1998 A4 Z28 camaro, its a daily driver, and i have flowmaster catback on her and soon to have flowtech headers and offroad Y-Pipe. plan on getting a LS6 intake sooner or later, but the question is the TR224 114 cam a good camshaft for my setup.

From what I've seen on doing countless searches with the words "TR224," this cam seems to be a great all around cam with the 114 being the best LSA option for an auto. I'm strongly considering this cam for me as well. No one will ever say anything bad about it. Of course, you're not going to be breaking any records, but this should make you very happy. Many will also recommend getting a stall converter to match with your cam. I'd have to agree on that point. That would be more important for you to get than the LS1 intake in the future.

First ditch the flowmaster. Second get an aftermarket torque converter in the 3500-4000 range then get a cam later. If you already have a stall then check out the FM11 cam over the 224. Killer street cam...

I would have to agree with TNorman. However, if he's like me, we're really wanting the sound and feel of a cam in the car. I really had to hold myself back from installing my cam until I had all the right components. However, I DO know of some people who run a similar cam with the stock converter. The car will basically want to push when you're idling. Of course, at a light, you could just put it in neutral.

Get a converter.
Ditch the flowmaster.
Change your sig to "346 LS1"

Realize that you are asking if it's a good cam for your setup. You said absolutely NOTHING about what you intend to do with the car and/or what you want to get out of it. If it's just a daily driver that you want a little more oomph out of then get a mild converter (3k-3500), different cat-back (try hooker maybe) and a dyno tune to go with the cam.

Where in IN are you?

Futral Motorsports FM11 all the way. This is my idle on a 112, so you can imagine how well it'll idle on a 114.
