Default Winding noise?

I have a 99 Z28 with 42,000 miles, i just started hearing a winding noise, sounds like i have a super charger but i dont. I have the K&N FIPK and i checked all the fittings on it and they seem to be fine. What can it be? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

it is a AT and you cant here it at idle only when you put it in gear, it gets louder everytime the transmission is about to change gears.
