CR help...not a stupid question btw
You're telling me!
i need someone whose either done this or knows what their talking about to figure out how much boost we can SAFELY run with a 9.7:1 CR with the 383,then we'll know our next step.

ive decided that this time around im doing things once and thats it,im not dealing with BS im getting serious.and the funny thing is i never go to the track, basically this is for me,cause i been working my *** off as i want this bad.i want to get a motor so my car is built for whatever i throw at it,has ZERO miles again so for resale WAY down the road(if i ever sell it) and is reliable and just insame to drive if i feel the need to use the skinny pedal.ill be the person whose at the track once every 6 months makes 2 passes on stock tires with stock suspension(except SFC and LCA's) and rip a high 10 pass with a 2.2 60ft and trap at 120+
and then cruise home in 6th gear at 1800rpms.
and then cruise home in 6th gear at 1800rpms.

post #12 about his CR,i realize that its a 427 with the best of everything but it has its similarities.im more of a low end driver(drop gears, or creep to 2k then step on it) so i think the 383 is the ticket.

Really your engine builder should be able to answer this question for you pretty easy. 6.0 heads are plenty, if less compression is needed open up the chambers or go to a piston with more dish. Stay away from trying to go low with thicker head gaskets, not the way to do it when pushing boost from what i'm told. If you can't get an answer on your combo from your engine builder i'd consult with another.
