Default Cylinder Head Storage Question

I bought a set of Patriot heads that I wasn't able to install on my car. On top of that I am headed back to Germany and won't be back to the US for about 2 years. Should I disassemble the valve springs to keep them from losing their spring tension?

Dunno bout the disassembling but I wrapped the heads off a 351 we had in this plastic wrap stuff so no dust or dirt could get in. Had them like that for years.

No need to disassemble but do oil the springs and wrap as 00Red suggested.

I'd coat the plastic wrap with oil as well before I wrapped them up

Do you have stainless valves and Ti retainers?
Other than the springs, nothing will rust. Just spray the springs with WD-40. Then wrap the heads up. You don't want to have to clean up heads that have been soaking in oil for a while.

Check to make sure the spark plugs don't extend into the combustion chamber...

or just sell them and get some new ones in 2 year. They may be cheaper then.

I was wondering the same thing. Should they be stored standing up or laying down? I've heard that storing them laying down can warp them.

Sell them, buy again in two years. Who knows, by then there will be plenty of competition, prices should be lower. If you keep them, just make sure they are protected from dirt and moisture
