Default valves and such

i just installed a pro charger w/ 6# the p1sc i think thats the model, and i was going to upgrade my valvetrain and was wondering what would be best for a ls1 with a sc? i dont know much about lifters, springs, valves, rockers and which material is better for which situation but just doing some research to get a better understanding....thnx

A good thing about a boosted motor is that you don't need tons of duration,
or valve lift to be effective. The manifold pressure being higher doesn't
require as much effort on piston, or exhaust draw to improve the effective compression.

I would say getting efficient flow far out-weighs the costs of getting into
a bigger valve diameters, springs, etc.

Have you thought about chamber work, or a valve job to improve flow into
the cylinder?

How about porting? You could get away with some porting and not kill the low end response due to higher than average cylinder filling with boost.

Only thing I would caution is all of this improvement of flow and the intake
closing point.

I don't see any cam swaps in your signtaure; I'd keep an eye on the DCR.

i just want the motor to last with 6# boost and riding up to 5500 or so rpm once in a while, ive heard of people having valve float, not too sure exactly what that is, kinda sounds like exhaust/intake open too long of a duration, but im still looking into this stuff...just tryin to research parts that can handle the extra strain a sc puts on a motor....stock cam, dont really want to upgrade it cause i keep hearing people dropping drasticly in gas mileage and i just want to hit 500 hp and work on the efficiency after that...

You need springs that will handle the boost pressures especialy on the exhaust side to keep the valve closed.
Something like Comp 921's if you have $$$ or PRC, Patriot duals.
