CR/heads gurus come in... Right now I've got my 6.0 bored .060 over and am running the stock LQ9 heads, Cometic .040 head gaskets, -2cc dished pistons, a PRC dual spring kit and a 244/248 .635/.627 112 +4 cam. From what I understand thus far, my compression is pretty low with this setup (with an online calculator I get 10.1:1). I know this is robbing me of a bit of hp, but I'm just wondering what type of heads I should go with for this setup. I also have a set of used #853 heads sitting around if those would be better to start with. I just wasn't sure which heads to go with exactly when I was building this engine so I just went with a set of brand new LQ9 heads just to get it up and running so I could make an educated decision later on. Well, now the time has come and no one has really answered my questions on the forum thus far. I've been hearing a lot about the PRC stage 2.5 heads which are going for $1400 right now, but most people are running them on 5.7 blocks along with smaller cams. So, I was wondering if these would be good for me (considering my larger cube engine and big cam) or if there were other suggestions anyone had for me. I'm not looking to get THE BEST HEADS on the market, I'm looking for something that would provide substantial gains with my setup but nothing earth shattering as this is my daily driver and I'm not looking to set any records... at least not yet.
