NEED HELP!!!! G1 with .030 heads.. P/V Issues??
NEED HELP!!!! G1 with .030 heads.. P/V Issues?? Helping a friend here at the shop.. He bought a set of used heads. The previous owner was running these with the G1 but his pistons were nothced .080. Ryan called MTI to see if it would work and they said it should.
With the rockers on the motor stops when turned over by hand. I have reduced the amount of rockers to just one and it clearly is P/V (Free spins easily with no rockers).
I am going to pull the cover off again right now, but have others had issues with this set up?

Problem solved... There are a couple dots on the crank gear. One on the gear itself and one on the front of the shaft that can be seen from where the crank bolt goes. My guess is there is a 8-10* difference (3 teeth) based on timing slots for the crank key.
Popped the cam gear off and realigned it. No more P/V issues. Hopefully fire it up tomorrow..
