can u drive a car with a magic stick cam on a stock tune. reason is i wana break in the clutch first befor i dyno tune it

 

you can do anything. it wont be like driving the stock car though. it will probably die and stuff, and surge...

 

Sure, you can. It's not fun, but you can. I'd recommend waiting on the cam install if possible and breaking the clutch in first. I drove mine without tuning a small amount (A4 with 3500 stall at the time) and it wasn't all that bad once I got it started. The only times I took it places I left it running the entire time, as getting it started and running was the hard part. Not killing it when coming to a stop was sometimes tricky as well. This was all after I drilled the throttle body out a little too.

 

you are not slamming gears on a dyno, you get it in fourth and pull to red line, and then shut down. That will not harm your clutch. There really isnt much resistance on a dyno either, so its not like your clutch will be holding a crazy amount of power. Go ahead and dyno tune, your clutch will be fine.

 

exactly i would try and tune it asap because getting it started, comming to a stop is gona bug the hell out of ya...also ull get all the power off the tune and ull love it way more.

 

i cant wait on the cam swap cuz its a new motor going in the other took a ****. Is there anyway to get a mail order tune just to get the 400 miles then dyno tune it. i dont feel like having to buy another stage 4 clutch

 

i also have ls1 edit....just learning it so not very good with it yet
