Ls1 Time Ok guys i have a 2000 chevy truck and first i was going to do an engine swap and try beefing it up but i finally realized that all that money its going to cost to make it as fast as a stock ls1 i could just use to buy a trans am. so thats where im headed. im looking for one right now but i want everyones oppinion on what small mods to do first. my friends all have Ta's and slowly mod them. i have about 1,500 bucks so someone help me get started on what i should get first and what will create the most horsepower for the buck. thanks

Do a search on "free mods" and "first mods". This is a very, very common question.
Get an automatic and buy an aftermarket torque converter with tranny cooler, temp gauge, shift kit, subframe connectors, "basic tune" for shift points and drag radials.
