If pressure is what people are concerned about thinking it helps, why not just shim the spring on a stock LS6 pump and remove any cast flashing yourself vs buying a 200 "ported pump"?

Has anyone tested to see if there is actually a volume difference in these pumps? Blueprinting and closing up the tolerances to try and force more oil through the pump seems as if it could possibly cost a few HP and for those that pay $200 for 5 HP could be getting the short end if you ask me.

I just talked to a friend last night that reminded me that his 2nd pump that failed was one of these $160+ ported LS6 pumps. (I also think it's the one that jammed)

"Buy a $200 pump and loose 5 HP" ----------OUCH (just thinking)

How did it jam? Doesn't matter how good the pump is, if something from the motor/oil jams it you are SOL.

When playing with it you could get it to jam, or slip by (if you will) the outer gear. As if the inner gear was a but to small (or the outer was to large).

I am not sure if this is normal but I would not think so, and I have never seen another one do it. If this IS normal, please let me know so I can ignore it if i ever see another one do it.

There were no knicks or gouges, no sighn of manual jamming we could see at all.

I got mine from TSP. They are normally $130, but I got it during one of their many specials and it was barely over $100.
