Default New Slp 402... Consuming Oil!?!?

i put my 402 together w/ patriot stage 3 heads w/ stock ls-1 induction. everything was fine until i went to put my ls-x intake manifold on. i found lots of oil in the port areas... also got a low oil light one night. i was driving home from getting food... luckily i was less than 10 min. from home. i limped it home and put a quart in it... that was after only about 1,000 miles.

anyone know what cuases this or more importantly... what fixes it?!

Well, if you found oil in you rintake ports and runners, theres really only one place it could come from. The pcv. You might want to do the ls6 pcv conversion or atleast get a catch can.

I dont know, maybe the added displacement is creating more vacuum? I really dont know exactly why it could or couldnt happen...

not much that it could be. i think it's probably the pcv system putting oil in there. try a catch can and see if that is your problem.

it could also be that your piston rings arn't keeping the oil where it's supposed to be. i hope this isn't your issue as this is a new short block.
