Default Broken internals?

A buddy of mine wanted to race, so I happily obliged him.. He was on a bike that runs 10.90's... Anyway we ran about 3 times. All three times I missed 2nd gear. Couldn't get it in 2nd to save my life.. Yeah I know, 2nd gear.. Anyway, after this there was a slight miss with the car and as I listened to it more, it got worse. So bad to the point that there was a metal grinding on metal sound at the back of the engine. The sound increased in duration along with increase in RPM. The performance fell off badly. I drove it about 1 block and pulled over.

I have a couple idea's: spun bearing, broken crankshaft, flywheel....

I know it's tough to say what is wrong based only on what I've told, but any help would be great.

Sounds to me like you are going to have to be getting a new shortblock. My vote would go towards a spun bearing.

BTW before you do anything else, get a pro 5.0 shifter.
