Default need help goin nuts here

ive been chasing this slapping noise in my engine.cant figure out whats goin on.ive recently installed harland sharp roller rockers 1.7,patriot dual springs and chrome moly push rods.ever since the install i am hearing a loud slapping noise when i increase the rpms.i found some of the rockers were hitting the valve covers and heads so i ground them down to clear.when i first started this i put 7.45 pushrods and the car wouldnt start.could i have really screwed something up havin done that.ive checked all the plugs and wires.none are loose.everything in the motor is stock in exception to the named above.any help would be greatly appreciated.im hopin to hit the strip this coming wed but not sure if i should chance it with this noise.thanks in advance
