does anyone know where i can get a new or used 6 liter iron block local in southern ca.

Call speed shops, salvage yards (recovery or damaged vehicles).
If you get just the block make sure it has the mains on it for they are spcific to each motor.

I have a used 6.0L LQ4 block for sale. It includes main caps and cam bearings. It is in good shape. If you are going to use it with the stock bore, it will need a line hone to cleanup the cylinder walls. It can safely take an overbore 0.050". Selling it for $350 shipped.
