No. Put some tread sealant (blue locktite) on the rocker arm bolts, and put 'em in. Every ported LS head I've seen has those holes.

Wayne, let Andrew dip your bolt in his red stuff and you wont get off! You can use locktite or RTV/Silicone, but I would discourage you from sealing the hole (opposed to just sealing the threads), as it can trap water/oil etc and work against the torque value and possibly cause issues later on.

Yeah, don't put it in the hole, put it on the threads right beofre you are threading it in. The red stuff will work, as long as you don't EVER plan on taking it apart again.

I bought the ARP thread sealer to use for this too but was wondering should you still use loctite on the bolts with the sealer?

So.....do you really need loctite at all on the exhaust rocker arm bolts? Seeing that the intake gets by ok without it.

Thread over locktite. And only on the intake is it necessary, since those are the bosses that are exposed after porting. Some ppl use locktite on all the bolts to prevent them walking out, I never had an issue with that on my car or others I wrenched.
