Default Hypertech thermostat wont fit???HELP

Hey guys,
OK the title may sound like i am stupid. When I first got the car it had a coolant leak. I took it in and had my local gm dealer fix it, the one my dad worked at for 28 years as a service manager. My 2000 was out of warranty but since we have 3 TA's (98,00 mine, 02) I had them do the work under our 02 TA so i didnt have to pay, lil trick for knowing people. Anyways now that i have all my mods done i had bought a Hypertech 160 degree thermostat since my pcm is tuned for that. We go to put it on, and the damn thing is different. The thermostat on my car now is not the thermostat in the housing, it is seperate, totally different than the hypertech one. So i guess my question is, the dealership put a diff. pump on, ACDELCO maybe? I compared mine to a 2002 SS and they are diff pumps. Am I the only one with this problem? If anyone know what kind of Thermostat i need that would be SWEETTTTT!!! Sorry its soo long
thx rob

ok, all the water pumps were updated to the 2004 design. so, you'll need to get one for a 2004 corvette. if they have one. if not, vinci has one. http://www.vincihighperformance.com/...TS%20PAGE.HTML $89.00 scroll down on left side.

by that question, it's obvious you didn't click the link. it comes with the t-stat housing as well. drilled with a bypass. that way, if the t-stat was ever to not open, there would still be some coolant bypassing it so as not to overheat drastically. the others only give you the t-stat itself.
