Default Machine work involved in stroking an LS1?

What work is involved in maching a stock LS1 to make a 383ci? Assuming a 4" crank with 6.2" rods? I did the search thing and got mediocre answers.

Does anyone have info or an opinion? Please wondering and trying to decide the path I'm gonna take with my motor to put in the X. Thanks.

You will need to have the cylinders honed, and depending on what rod/piston/crank combo you use, some minor clearencing may have to be done. The rest is just basic machine work that would be done with any engine building process.

Usually the bottom of the cylinder has to be clearanced for the rods. Everything else is standard stuff. Here is a pic so you can see what I'm talking about.
