Default F11 vs. F14?

I know this subject has been beat to death but i really am torn between the two. I want to know everyones opinion and experience. What do you think my dyno numbers would be with the 2 different cams. My mods:

99 Z28 A4

LT Headers
ORY
Custom exhaust
TCI3500
Ported TB
TSP lid

I know that the F14 will produce more power at higher rpm but that doesnt mean that it is the better cam to go with. I also know that dyno numbers dont mean much but a good tuning tool. And the cam would be on a 112+4. Well let me know your thoughts.

F 13 is best of both worlds.

F13 is the best of both worlds. OR....just buy the 14 and call it a day.

I know the F13 is a great cam but thats not my question. Ok if you want to include the F13 well how much of a difference will the F13 and F14 be? I mean i know there will be a difference some where in the rpm range but where and how much roughly? I hear a lot of talk about the F13 and i know it is a good well rounded cam. I will be happy with 370ish 380ish with my A4 locked. Do you think i will achieve this with either of the two cams?(f13, f14) Basically what i am looking for is a dyno graph of the two cams.

Just go with the f14, it makes great power all the way through the rpm's, and drives just as smooth as an f13 ino.

What up Dan? If I were doing it again, I'd get the F14. You'll be happy with either one. I really think you need to get an LS6 intake first or you'll be a little disapointed. The LS1 intake is pretty restrictive.

Why not get the F15 and call it a day? You'll want to go bigger 6 months from now anyway.

Im sure the HP difference between the f13 and f14 is in the single digits. The f-14 will lope a little harder, and you will have to spin it a little higher to make your power. Low end will be down just a little but not much. I love my f-13 but sometimes i wish i went a little bigger. Sounds very tame to me now. Id go bigger but I dont want to spin my motor any faster than now.

you cant go wrong with FMS. call and talk with allen, ask him what he recommends for you. i had him do a custom cam for my setup, and he hit the nail on the head.

Hey GuitsBoy - I do a lot of highway driving. Can you crusie along nicely at 70 with your f-13? Does 6th gear still pull normal? Thanks!

I have 4.10s so im always at a higher RPM for similar speeds, but ive lugged the motor from speeds as low as 45 in 6th gear. Usually I drive at 70 day to day, and up to 80 on longer trips and I have no problem with any loss of low end and the bucking is barely any worse than stock (after some tuning). Im really happy with this cam. Last night I just drove home from upstate, 260 miles between at 75 MPH, with two short WOT blasts to pass cars, and 45 minutes of bumper to bumper NYC traffic - all on 9.5 gallons. Thats about 27.3 MPG with mods in sig.

I did spend most of the time being very delicate with the gas pedal and shifted at very low rpms.

Wow, that sounds great! I was thinking about 4.10s as well at one point. Yeah, I do have the same problem fm11 vs. fm13 - haha, nice problem to have right? I drive about 100mi a day to and from work so highway performance is definitely important!

My buddy has the f-11, and its also a nice cam. But after getting my tune dialed in, I cant really see a reason not to go with the bigger cam. Drivability is superb.

Hey Brandon, were those numbers in your sig with the F14? What other mods do you have? Thanks!

I've got the F14 in an a4 and hit 392rwhp. I don't see you having any problem hitting your goal with the F13 or the F14. I don't know much about the F11 but your goal of 370-380 is very reasonable so you could probley be there with that one too. If you want to really notice you have a cam get the F14 because its nice and choppy but you can still get away with driving it daily.

I have not been aorund many F14s. I love my F11 but if I did it again I'd go with a F13. There just does not to seem to be a down side from jumping up in size.
