Non-green German Castrol???
Non-green German Castrol??? This is the second oil change I've done with the German stuff, and this time around none of the quarts were green like they were before. Did they maybe improve the formulation or something, or have they started marking domestic Syntec as the German variety?

I've used this oil for a while now and it has always been green. Are you sure the back says made in Germany? I'm pretty sure the new ones say imported from Germany or something like that. Anyhow they have always been green.
Newest stuff from germany is a new formula which is gold in color (not green) Ad long as it says made in germany, youre good. These's been plenty of info on this lately at BITOG.

It's true, the newest batches of German Castrol are a different formula and the oil is now gold in color (normal oil color) This formula is still very good though, it still passes the same European specs, it's still almost a 40 weight oil and it's HTHS number is still very good at 3.6. When my supply of green German Castrol runs out, I will switch to the new formula. The green stuff was Germany's Formula SLX while the gold stuff is their newest version which is called SLX Longtec.
