Do you see any worthwhile gains out of ported LS1 heads, or do you get more bang for buck out just getting a set of aftermarket heads? I am an LT1 guy so I am still learning about the LS1.

 

Yes LS1 heads are worthwhile. Just like any other heads there are variables and stages, but you can get good bang for your buck depending on what you have done.

most of the heads people have are ported ls1 heads (either stock ls1 casting, stock 5.3 castings, or stock ls6 casting all ported)

the only companies that offer completely new castings are afr and allpro i believe, their may be a couple more

 

 

I have LS1 ported heads on my 436....480 RWHP Thats also with a stock TB.

I know, when am I gonna get the 90mm stuff and better flowing heads....soon.

 

Damn 480?! I'm thinking about getting mine ported but I just want to see some numbers on stock cubes so I can ballpark what kind a gain I'd be looking at.
