Pretty much free TB bypass mod
Hey everyone, I did the bypass mod on my LS1 via rubber hose from intake water outlet to radiator, 2 clamps, and 2 zip ties. I eliminated all the factory hoses and clamps and went with one piece hose (didn't want leaks in the future). I came straight out from the intake to the radiator with the hose, then ran it along under the MAF to the other side. No clearance problems, looks a little cleaner, and was used with some extra parts I had lying around. Can use vaccuum caps on the TB on you would like, I did but one of them has already fallen off somewhere. What do you think? Was it worth mentioning?
what size hose did you use? I started to do something like that on my 99 but the end near the radiator is alot larger than that at the intake so a hose that would fit one end wouldn't fit the other.
Hey I believe I used a 3/8" hose. I don't remember, I had the hose lying around and decided to give it ago before I ordered a bypass kit. It did fit snug on the radiator side but the hose wasn't too thick so it stretched just enough to work. Hope this helps. Justin.
FYI..There are tech articles on this mod from a few years ago in LS1howto.com and installuniversity.com..both are good a source of info for the free mods and instrutions on how to do some other mods (cam & springs, heads, ect) you should check it out..

Thanks for the support guys. I didn't see I writup when I was looking to do the bypass, so I figured I would post it for people like me that hadn't seen it. Thanks for not bashing this thread if it is a repeat. Justin.
Lol i did it the ULTRA cheap way. I broke off one of the fittings on the bottom of the TB, that used tp be a part of the TB heating system, and used it to spice the hose that comes off the heads and the hose that comes off the radiator. I didnt use 1 non stock part. GL

Check out installuniversity.com or LS1howtoo.com all that info is in there with photos
Install university has the BMR kit listed in their instructions. Just wondering if there was another step by step with pics source as the description in the first post is different than install university.
I used one piece hose as well, put oil on radiator end then forcefully put hose on, about a year ago. so far no problems, works like a champ. just 4 info, did a before/after temp test. diff. TB is 25 deg cooler w/ mod.

I took the two pieces of different size hose that was on the TB and threw them away and ran a single piece of rubber hose from the head to the radiator...zip tied it to the upper radior hose ..had to lube up the fitting on the radiator but it works like a champ..you don't need no stinkin pictures...
