Default LS2 chain with stock sprocket

Hello yall i am upgrading to a ls2 chain. Should the sprocket be changed as well?

just make sure it's up when you bolt the oil pump back on. The chain is thick enough that if you let it sag, it can get pinched behind the pump. then you'll have to loosen the pump to pull the chain tight.

What if your car has 116k on it? Those sprokets don't get worn? I'm about to do a cam and need sone advice, thanks.

Just buy a new sprocket for your year model car, and the LS-2 chain.

That is what I did. My car was at about 75,000 when I got the heads done, so I changed the sprocket and chain.

At 87K miles my showed no sign of wear so it went back in...just do a visual inspection and if it looks worn get another one...other wise keep on keepin on...throwing unnessary $$$ money at a motor will not make it run better..but if ya gotta do it for your peace of mind then go for it...
