Getting ready to do my first head swap (Absolute Speed S2's). Done a lot of research (jmX's site is the best!!), and I just want to make sure that I've got all the appropriate gaskets/bolts on hand.
Since I've got an 02, removed my AIR, don't have EGR, and have the metallic water pump gaskets, here's what it sounds like I'll need (GM Part #'s):
12498544 - '02-'04 LS1/LS6 head Gasket Package
12498545 - LS1/LS6 head Bolt Kit (2 needed)
Does this sound right? Will I need new gaskets for the intake or valve covers, or are they reuseable?
TIA. Can't wait to get them on, retune it, and bring it back to the dyno <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> . Even better, I can't wait to get back to the track <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> (even though I'm gonna have to be easy on the launches until I get enough $$ saved up to upgrade the driveline <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> ).

If you are JUST doing a head swap, not a cam swap, then thats all you need. You can even do it without removing the water pump if you feel like it.
Hope the page helps ya out, thanks for the compliment <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
