Head comparison question
What do you guys think is the best bang for the buck heads for an Ls1 ?
I am bringing this up because i will be doing a H/C ls1 in a 3rd gen GTA and i would like to make 450hp at the wheels N/A...but for the cheapest cost of course...cam decision is almost made for me...F-13 is proven ...F14 looks great also.
People seem to love AFR's but i heard rumor that TEA has some 2.5's that flow better than the AFR 225's?
I know there are plenty of other heads out there...but for the price is a major issue for me...and i dont have a Core to give.
What is your opinion?
thanks
-Chris

honestly its seems pretty straight forward to me; just cruise all the 430-450rwhp combo's done with AFR 205s and relatively mild cams. now do the same for the TEA 2.5's, seems everyone praises those heads but results are far and few...
at any rate, if your still considering a 2.5 TEA head, i'd opt for the 6.0 as the core charge is less and they are more or less the same as the 2.5 LS6's.
and keep in mind; flow on the bench doesnt automatically transpire into more power over a "lesser" flowing head.
to me, spending a bit more for consistancey in the short term pans out better in the long run. my 2 cents.

just installed afr 205's on my vette with .040 cometics, .024 mill 62cc afr heads, crane/vinci boss2 cam 216/224 .590 lift on crane 1.8 rockers, 115 lsa, impressive performance gains, #'s to follow
